News Reporter Scene
News reporter: The breaking news this morning has come as a big shock to the footballing nation today as both Sheffield clubs The Blades and The Owls have united together in a bid to prevent both sides from becoming non existent. Many supporters have welcomed the coming together however, many supporters are worried about the safety of their own supporters with many rifts still left unsolved between the two clubs.
The fight scene: One owls fan: lads! lads! stop!
One blades fan: Break it up!
(look at eachother)
(Both groups looked puzzled)
Wednesday fan: What are you two doing?!
Blades fan: You not heard then?
All: heard what?!

Conformation of footage usage (wednesday clip)
| ||||||||
Mr Tweed,
Here is the confirmation from Wednesday that is fine to use footage from their ground.
I would suggest you just have a caption at the bottom saying 'footage used by kind permission
from Sheffield Wednesday FC'.
If Blades don't allow you to use their footage then...well you're obviously supporting the wrong club. Mr Welch -----Original Message-----

Copyright Permission for sound

Hey Sam,
My name is Justin. I am the owner and founder of SilverTone. I thank you for contacting SilverTone Records. However, we are not the UK based record label you are looking for. This label was founded in the US about a decade ago. As to your question of use to the song, "Waterfall," I can still answer. Fair use is a limitation and exception to the exclusive right granted by copyright law to the author of a creative work. In United States copyright law, fair use is a doctrine that permits limited use of copyrighted material without acquiring permission from the rights holders. Examples of fair use include commentary, search engines, criticism, news reporting, research, teaching, library archiving and scholarship. It provides for the legal, unlicensed citation or incorporation of copyrighted material in another author's work under a four-factor balancing test: 1. The purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes. 2. The nature of the copyrighted work. 3. The amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole. 4. The effect of the use upon the potential market for, or value of, the copyrighted work. I cannot find an official website for the UK SilverTone label and from my understanding, when their parent group, Zomba merged into BMG, they too dispersed. With this in mind, if you are questioning what the UK stance on the Fair use act is, you can attempt to contact the Stone Roses to gain permission or find out who owns rights to the particular song, or do research on google to find out exact details on the fair trade use in the UK. I hope this is a help to you. Good luck with your project. Blessings! Peace, Grace & Love, Justin Church SilverTone Records SilverToneRecords.Org | ||||||||

Locations
I have chosen a few locations that i'm planning to use for my film. I intend to use some rundown/rough areas to get a more realistic and conventional hooligan feel to the film. I'm choosing these locations as these places tend to be quiet so its a perfect spot for two firms to settle their differences. I'm hoping to get permission to film in a pub to have a stereotypical pub scene with beer flowing.

Theories and linking them to my film
Goodwin's theory
Andrew Goodwin's theory suggests that there is six generic conventions in a music video but some can be used in a film trailer.
Generic conventions-
Sub genre
Relationship between lyrics and visual
Relationship between visual and music
Close up of artist (emphasise)
Mirrors and photography used a lot (female body)
Often intertextual reference
Some of these generic conventions cant really be used in a film trailer such as the lyrics having a relationship with visuals.
I can use the close up of artists/actor in my trailer to emphasise the importance of the characters in the film.
